Unidrain wins the iF Design Award 2010
Since 2003 Unidrain has been in the forefront of making floor drains a vital bathroom design element. The drain system has become the preferred choice among consumers and professional installers because it provides the dual freedom of imagination and practicality. And now Unidrain’s HighLine collection has been honoured with the prestigious design prize, the iF Design Award 2010, for creating a world-class drain design.
In 2003 Unidrain set a new standard in corner and line drains that eliminated the concerns that traditional square drains often bring into the design process. The idea was to create a drain that was easy to install both in new constructions and renovations, and to design a system requiring just one wall-mounted drain unit. In tandem with a patented flange system, this significantly reduces the risk of water damage. An important aspect was the design, which would elevate the drain's status and transform it into an active design element on par with fixtures, tiles and sinks, thus making the drain an important feature in the creation of the elegant, streamlined bathroom.

Drains from Unidrain are a popular choice with consumers seeking simplicity, practicality and clean aesthetics, but it is also a prime choice among professionals.
And the winner is…
Unidrain is a previous winner of the Good Design Award and has now received further recognition in the form of the international iF Design Award 2010. Since 1954 the award has been presented once a year and is considered one of the most prestigious international design awards. As an independent institution, iF is known for its support and recognition of industry design and boasts a judging panel of 28 renowned experts. The iF Design Award has 12 categories, and Unidrain received top marks in product design, where the HighLine collection line drain was chosen best from among 2000 products from 37 countries. Unidrain’s win in this category reflects the drain’s increasing importance in the field of bathroom design.
Contemporary design
Unidrain represents contemporary yet timeless design that melds seamlessly into the interiors of most homes. Choice is a central element and one of the primary reasons for Unidrain’s success. With the HighLine collection, the drain can be fully integrated into the shower area thanks to the detachable panel system. One popular choice is laying the floor tiles so that they continue over the drain, thereby nearly hiding it from view. Another attractive option is selecting an eye-catching colour for the panel to create a visual feature for the entire room. With Unidrain, the only limit is your imagination.

The HighLine Custom drain was conceived as a natural extension of the increasing demand for design solutions that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The wall-mounted drain is also very economical as the risk of expensive water damage is much lower than with traditional drains.
