The apartments on Østerbrogade 105, nominated for architecture award ”Mies van der Rohe Award 2007”
Unidrain is involved in the shower cubicles of the 52 residences, Østerbrogade 105 in Østerbro in Copenhagen. The building was in the running for one of the world's most sought-after architecture awards, the Mies van der Rohe Award 2007.
The firm of architects, C.F. Møller is behind the building and among other things explains: ” Østerbrogade 105 is a new residential property among fine historical townhouses in one of Copenhagen's most sought-after areas. The residential property's unique facade composition tells a modern story about variation and sculptural form with the starting point in the neighbouring building's rich details. The facade's reddish-brown recycled tiles and the modernistic bay windows link the building to the neighbourhood. The bay windows clad in copper and glass push forth like eyes on the facade. Here, the residents can step out and have a long look up and down the street and they also pull the light far into the apartment. The complicated masonry, which rounds off and finishes the block stretches in its entire length across a light glass wall, which clads the high ground floor. The contrast between heavy surfaces which float over the light, high glass facade, gives the building a touch of modernity and an unexpected base.”
