View to the Arctic
Looking out over the largest icebergs in the Northern Hemisphere. Encircled by the deep, Arctic stillness. Crystal-clear water meets mirror-like stainless steel when Hotel Arctic, located on the west coast of Greenland, opened its doors in February 2008 to reveal 33 thoroughly renovated rooms with new bathrooms featuring Unidrain.

With a view of the Disko Bay, where fishing vessels resemble tiny fish against the colossal icebergs. Hotel Arctic has renovated 33 of its rooms facing the inland ice cap and the world’s largest glacier. The rooms, which are located in the hotel’s oldest wing, built in 1984, has been fitted with brand new bathrooms featuring Unidrain and Philippe Starck bathroom fittings. The project was completed February 2008.

Indoor Arctic elegance

The Hotel Arctic bathrooms underwent a complete rebuilding project, with new ceilings, wooden floors and fittings. Here, Unidrain technology and design unite with Philippe Starck porcelain and a wall of frosted glass as a new feature of the bathroom's surrounding wall, as well as a glass door leading to the bathroom itself. The overall style is both knife-sharp and elegant, the indoor equivalent of the impressive Arctic surroundings.

Stylish drains
According to Hotel Arctic’s general manager Erik Bjerregård, Unidrain adds another dimension to the hotel bathrooms in terms of both design and functionality:

“The design blends into the hotel as a whole, indeed it adds an extra visual quality that gives the hotel another dimension,” writes Erik Bjerregård, who goes on to add: “Many of our guests comment on our stylish drains.”

Both guests and Hotel Arctic staff are impressed with Unidrain functionality. Erik Bjerregård provides two examples:

“The product grabs hold of the water just as fast as it comes out of the shower head” – ”it’s also easy to access for cleaning out hair and soap, according to the chambermaids.”

Peace and purification

All rooms at Hotel Arctic enjoy exceptional views facing the Ice Bank, Disko Bay and the city of Ilulissat, as do the restaurants and conference facilities. With a first row seat from which to take in Greenland’s incredible natural resources, there is plenty of time to become pleasantly immersed, and in the new bathrooms there is ample opportunity to shower beneath the crystal-clear water of the Arctic. Water that naturally cleanses both body and soul before it is efficiently whisked away by Unidrain.
