Exposed in Danish design house
The Danish Townhouse DK in London shows current trends in Danish design together with traditional quality products from Denmark. Unidrain is represented with its unique floor drain that combines design and practical function in one.
As a part of London Design Festival, the Danish Embassy in London has created Townhouse DK to showcase the best in Danish design and interiors. A traditional English Mews house has been transformed into an inspirational modern Danish design home. The idea behind Townhouse is to grow a living and happening place where designers and industry leaders will be encouraged to interact and be inspired by the best of Danish design.

Danish architect and furniture designer Rene Hougaard and the trend setting London-based architect practice Child Graddon Lewis have been commissioned to specify the interiors of Townhouse DK. They have chosen Unidrain to the house’s two bathrooms because of the floor drains outstanding qualities as a design item as well as a secure and waterproof solution – a good example of sturdy and durable Danish design.

Rene Hougaard explains: “For us Unidrain is a new Danish design product that sums up the qualities of the Danish design tradition. And as an architect, I know that the bathroom is the room in the house with most considerations to take”.

Rene Hougaard was represented to Unidrains products by Danish designer and owner of the trendsetting kitchen and bath store CPH Square, Martin Lindholdt Madsen. CPH Square is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and swears by Unidrain.

Townhouse is situated in the heart of the Brompton Quarter in London. It opened 15th September and will be open until the end of December 2007. The Danish Embassy will in that period of time host numerous events in co-operation with key players in the design industry.

Townhouse DK will also produce its own architectural limited edition magazine edited by Scandinavian book author Magnus Englund.

Townhouse Address:
